Protecting the natural environment is a responsibility that involves the entire outdoor industry: companies, retailers, associations, professionals, media, and enthusiasts. With this belief, MagNet Srl SB has chosen to join EOCA – European Outdoor Conservation Association, an organization that brings together entities in the sector with the aim of concretely supporting nature conservation projects worldwide.

Established in 2006, EOCA selects projects to fund through a rigorous evaluation process, also supported by the opinion of an independent scientific panel. The supported initiatives are particularly focused on biodiversity conservation and combating the effects of the climate crisis. Today, the association networks the resources of nearly 160 outdoor entities and, since its foundation, has allocated over 5.6 million euros to nature conservation, supporting 201 projects in 65 countries.

The outdoor world is our reference sector, and we are familiar with the prestigious work carried out by EOCA. We strongly identify with its values, initiatives, and projects. We believe that protecting the natural environments where outdoor activities take place is a shared responsibility, and we want to actively contribute to this mission,” comments Benedetto Sironi, CEO of MagNet Srl SB.

The membership is part of a journey that MagNet has been pursuing for several years. Since 2021, the publishing house is B Corp certified, a choice that involves measuring and continuously improving its social and environmental performance and a business vision that considers, along with economic results, the impact generated on people and the planet. “For us, becoming EOCA members represents a natural evolution of this journey. It means strengthening our mission and vision, getting even more in touch with companies and organizations that share the same values, and contributing more actively to the protection and conservation of outdoor environments, which are at the heart of our sector”.

Membership in EOCA is not limited to financial support for projects. Members can participate in the voting process that helps identify initiatives to fund, monitor project progress, and directly participate in conservation activities and initiatives. The association also encourages its members to involve employees, partners, and communities, promote awareness campaigns, organize local activities, and contribute directly to projects on the ground.

For MagNet, joining EOCA represents another opportunity to use its role as media to serve the outdoor community, giving greater visibility to conservation issues, concrete projects, and the entities that work every day to preserve the natural environments on which the entire sector depends.
